In the day I worked we saw almost 20 racers. Close to 75% of them had at least some degree of immersion foot, and they all had blisters in various stages. The feet on the left in the photo below were almost entirely intact. In contrast note the toe end blisters and highly inflamed last joint on the third foot from the right. This racer, as well as the one on the right, also had badly macerated tissue from broken blisters on the balls of their feet. Jane Moorhead |
